Identity in Christ and being made in God’s image with Alyx

Season 1, Episode 500:21:18Published March 4, 2025

Identity in Christ changes how you see yourself when you look in the mirror, when you scroll, and when you feel like you are not enough. In this episode, I'm sitting down with my friend Alyx to talk about what it really means to be made in God's image, not as a cute church phrase, but as a steady foundation for real life.

Alyx shares how the Lord has been confirming her identity lately and how that has helped her stop borrowing pieces of other people's lives and start uncovering who God actually created her to be. We talk about the pressure to be perfect, the spiral that starts with a single thought, and the freedom that comes when you remember you're not made perfect by striving, you're made whole in Jesus.

You'll hear practical ways to start walking this out:
- getting in the bible so you know what God says about you when your mind is loud
- taking every thought captive and replacing self talk with truth
- keeping a few verses ready for the moments you feel fear, comparison, or shame
- letting God show you how loved you are, then sitting with it instead of rushing past it

Alyx also shares the passages that have helped her most, including Isaiah 41:10, being fearfully and wonderfully made, and why Song of Songs feels like a love note that can reset your whole heart.

If you've been trying to find your value in performance, appearance, or other people's approval, this conversation is your reminder to breathe, come back to the Word, and remember who you are and whose you are. You don't have to become someone else. God made you on purpose.
