Faith in practice is not just signing up for a team or a church role. It's a way of life. In this final episode of the Serving With Purpose series, I'm sharing what it looks like to live with a servant heart in the small, faith filled moments that nobody claps for, but God always sees.
I'm pulling real examples straight from our home life (we homeschool our four kids), including a weekly writing assignment my husband gave them on "what it means to be a servant." Their answers were funny, bold, and honestly... convicting in the best way. One of my kids wrote, "Even if no one notices, don't matter. You just do your thing and hope it helps." Another basically said, "Even if it's boring, just do it." And one of my girls nailed this truth: serving isn't being bossed around, it's choosing to step in because you care.
We'll talk about how Jesus modeled service in everyday ways, not grand gestures. He noticed people. He listened. He met practical needs. He washed feet. And that's the invitation for us too.
Inside this episode:
- How to shift from "I have to serve" to "I get to serve"
- Why serving is a heart posture, not an event
- Healthy boundaries so service stays rooted in love, not resentment
- Colossians 3:23 and why your unseen work matters
- A real story from our family volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, showing up even when you won't see the finished house
My challenge for you this week is simple: ask God to show you one small way to serve right where you are. Not complicated. Just intentional. See a need, fill a need. And let God shape who you're becoming as you do it.
