00:33:31Published November 25, 2025

Have you ever found yourself leading people and wondering how to balance compassion with clear boundaries? In this heartfelt episode, I sit down with my friend Michelle, the wise and humble heart behind the Schoolie Swarm nomad community. We talk about what it really means to lead with grace, make hard decisions with love, and cultivate safe spaces for others, even when it's messy.

Michelle shares the incredible story of how Schoolie Swarm began and has grown. Along the way, she opens up about navigating tough leadership calls, protecting community members, and the deeply rooted faith that keeps her grounded through it all.

We explore how God has shown her the power of healthy boundaries and the importance of leaning into His discernment, even when the choices are hard. Michelle's heart for community is contagious, and her perspective on seeing people through God's eyes is something I'll carry with me for a long time.

Whether you're leading a team, raising a family, or building community in your own way, this conversation will encourage you to trust God's guidance and embrace the small, faithful steps that shape the bigger picture.

Scripture references include:

  • Luke 6:37-38 – "Forgive, and you will be forgiven... With the measure you use, it will be measured back to you."

  • Jeremiah 29:11 – "For I know the plans I have for you..."

Faith Reframed Part 2/3 - From Shepherd to Warrior, Trusting God in Your Everyday Battles

In today's episode of Perspectives Into Practice, I sit down with my sister Bryanna for part two of our conversation on being a warrior woman of God. We center this discussion on the story of David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17, and we talk honestly about what it looks like to stand in faith when you feel small, overlooked, or unqualified. David was a shepherd boy, not a trained soldier. He spent his days in the fields, caring for sheep, fighting off predators, and learning to trust God in quiet, unseen places. What looked like obscurity was actually preparation. When the time came, David stepped forward in obedience, not because he felt ready, but because he trusted that God was with him. Throughout this conversation, Bryanna and I unpack what it means to live out that same courage today, especially as women walking by faith. In this episode, we talk about: What it truly means to be a warrior woman in Christ, someone who listens to God's voice, stands without fear, and is willing to defend truth. How God prepares us in hidden seasons, just as David was shaped while tending sheep before ever facing Goliath. Why obedience matters more than qualification, and how God often calls those the world underestimates. The danger of wearing someone else's armor, as seen when Saul tried to dress David in armor that did not fit him (1 Samuel 17). Walking by faith with what God has already given you, even when it feels small, like David's sling and stone. How courage is built over time, through consistent obedience, much like physical strength grows with daily training. Facing everyday Goliaths, whether that battle is mental health, marriage struggles, parenting, discouragement, or simply getting out of bed. The reality of spiritual warfare, and why resistance can be a sign that you are walking in obedience. Putting on the full armor of God, as described in Ephesians 6, and remembering that we are equipped for the fight. Who the real enemy is, because "we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers" (Ephesians 6:12). Standing firm in faith, just as David declared, "You come to me with a sword, but I come to you in the name of the Lord" (1 Samuel 17:45). If you are in a season where your battle feels unseen, overwhelming, or too big for you, this episode is for you. God doesn't just call the qualified; He qualifies the called. If you are standing in front of your own Goliath today, you are not alone, and you are not unarmed. if you have a story where God has met you in the middle of your own everyday battle, big or small, I would love to hear it. I am always looking for women to join me on the podcast and share how God has worked in their lives and how they are putting perspective into practice. Faith Reframed Part 1/3 - From Religion to Relationship: When Faith Gets Real and Church Feels Hard

In this 3-part series, my sister Bryanna and I dig deep into what it really means to walk with God, not just believe in Him. From letting go of religion to embracing real relationships, to becoming the warrior women God calls us to be, to learning from David's raw and real story, and finally, why faith isn't passive. If your faith feels like it needs a reset or a deeper fire, this series is for you.So many of us have been there, showing up every week, doing all the "right" things, but deep down wondering, is this really what a relationship with Jesus is supposed to feel like? In part one of our series, this powerful episode, my sister Bryanna and I dive into a conversation that's part personal testimony, part honest reflection on modern church culture. We talk about what it means to move from religion to relationship, but also what happens when the church you love no longer feels like it's leading people to the heart of Jesus. She shares how a women's conference woke something up in her, reminding her what the presence of God really feels like, and how painful it's been to realize that not everyone in the church is there for the same reason. We talk about ministry burnout, performative faith, and how hard it is to walk away from a church that once felt like home. Scripture threads through it all like Matthew 11:30, "My yoke is easy and my burden is light," and Proverbs 27:17, "As iron sharpens iron…", reminding us that Jesus invites us into rest, not religion. If you've been carrying quiet questions about your faith, your church, or your role in it all, this episode is for you. If you have a story like this to share, I'd love to hear it. Dangers of Roblox for Kids: A Christian Mom’s Story of Discernment and Spiritual Protection

In this powerful episode of Perspectives into Practice, I welcome my longtime friend Emily to discuss a story every parent needs to hear. What started as a typical game of Roblox for Emily's kids quickly turned into a wake-up call when spiritual darkness crept in through something hiding in plain sight. Together, we unpack how easily the enemy sneaks into our homes through screens, why spiritual discernment is a must, not just for us, but for our children, and how we can stay alert without living in fear. Emily shares how God redeemed her own story of marriage and motherhood, and how He's continuing to guide her family through small, faithful steps. With heartfelt encouragement and practical wisdom, this episode will help you reframe boundaries as protection, not punishment, and invite God to be the gatekeeper of your home. Scriptures Referenced: James 4:7 – "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." 1 Peter 5:8 – "Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour." Judges (general reference to spiritual leadership and the dangers of doing what is right in one's own eyes) "Does this honor God?" - A simple question that can shape the conversations you have with your kids starting today. Tune in to be equipped, encouraged, and reminded that God is not distracted, even when we are.Want to be a guest on the show? Forgiven and Free: Discovering God’s Grace After Abortion

This one is tender and full of grace. In today's episode, I sit down with my dear friend Jamie, whose story is one of deep pain met with even deeper healing. We talk candidly about abortion, its emotional and spiritual aftermath, and the transformative power of Jesus to restore what feels broken beyond repair. In this conversation, we cover: What it's like to carry the hidden weight of abortion inside the church Why surrender is the starting point for peace The gentle but powerful work of the Holy Spirit Stories of sidewalk advocacy and lives saved through testimony How to forgive others and yourself Scripture came alive in our talk, especially these: 2 Corinthians 5:17 — "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" Psalm 34:18 — "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Micah 7:19 — "You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea." If your story includes abortion, or if someone you love is carrying that pain silently, this episode is for you. Healing is possible. Freedom is real. And God is not done with your story. The "Surrendering the Secret" class is a post-abortion healing study created by Pat Layton. You can find more about that gentle, scripture-rich space for healing at surrenderingthesecret.com. That class was a turning point for Jamie and for many others. Her story is real, redemptive, and filled with the hope that only Jesus can bring. If you're ready to share your perspective and how faith has shaped your journey, I would love to hear from you. Visit perspectivesintopractice.com and apply to be a guest.
