Seeing God in Everyday Moments Can Transform Your Faith in Small but Lasting Ways

Can I ask you something? How many times have you looked back at your day and wondered where the time went? Or if anything you did even mattered? I know I do. But here's the thing. I used to think that seeing God work meant some lightning-bolt miracle or a big, obvious answer to prayer. These days, I've learned there's so much more. In our most recent podcast episode, I talked about how seeing God in everyday moments really can change our faith in ways we rarely expect. And honestly, it happens one small step at a time.

Why Does Seeing God in Everyday Moments Feel So Difficult?

I get it. We live busy lives. Between family, work, laundry, and the to-do lists that never end, it's easy to miss the small stuff. But here’s what I’ve learned. Seeing God in everyday moments isn’t about big mountain-moving faith every single day. Most of the time, it’s about the little things. A kind word. That sudden peace in the chaos. A parking spot just when you needed it. Or a friend sending a text right as you feel overwhelmed. These moments aren’t random. God delights in every detail, even the ones nobody else notices.

Sometimes, we feel like the extraordinary has to be loud. But I remember so many stories from this past year where God showed up quietly. In the middle of chores. Through a child’s laughter. Or in the gentle nudge that said, “Reach out to her.” The truth is, seeing God in everyday moments is like learning a new language. It takes practice to notice. But the more you notice, the more you see Him everywhere.

What if I Don’t Notice Anything at All?

Let me tell you, you are not alone. There are seasons when I’ve felt like nothing was happening. Just the usual routine. But looking back, I can see God was there all along. Sometimes, you don’t realize it until weeks or months later. And here’s my favorite part. Even if you think you’ve missed Him, you haven’t. God is always at work, even when we don’t see it.

How Noticing God in Small Ways Transforms Your Faith

Seeing God in everyday moments is personal. It’s practical. It moves faith from a Sunday thing to an every-minute thing. I noticed a shift in my own heart once I started intentionally looking for God’s fingerprints. That quick prayer before a meeting... The moment I paused before snapping at my kids. The unexpected encouragement on a tough day. All of it mattered.

Here’s what shifted for me. I started expecting God to show up, not just hoping. That doesn’t mean the hard days disappeared (wouldn’t that be nice?). But it means my perspective changed. Faith began to feel less like a checklist and more like being in relationship with a good Father.

Simple Ways to Start Seeing God in Everyday Moments

  • Ask yourself each day: “Where did I notice God today?”
  • Write down even the smallest things – a moment of patience, a smile, a deep breath
  • Share these moments with a friend or loved one
  • Pray a simple, honest prayer asking God to help you see Him
  • Pause before reacting and look for how God might be present

It might feel awkward at first. But I promise, it gets easier. And suddenly, the ordinary starts to feel sacred.

What the Bible Says About God’s Presence in the Everyday

I love what Psalm 139:3 (CSB) says, “You observe my travels and my rest; you are aware of all my ways.” That verse reminds me that God is in it all - not just the big milestones, but every quiet step, each ordinary hour. That’s what seeing God in everyday moments looks like. We don’t have to strive for His attention. He’s already with us. Even in the small stuff. Even when nobody else sees.

I’ve seen it in my life too many times to count. The time I felt overwhelmed with my kids on a road trip and out of nowhere, I felt calm. Or those little victories in my marriage, when we laugh together at the end of a hard day. God is in all of that. We just need to pay attention.

How This Changes Our Faith For Good

Here’s something I want you to know. Seeing God in everyday moments builds trust. It gives you confidence to step out in bigger faith because you’ve seen His faithfulness day by day. When you look back and see the pattern, it’s easier to believe He’s not finished with your story.

  • Daily faithfulness matters more than you think
  • Your small obedience gets multiplied by God
  • Simple stories encourage others (even if you think they’re “just normal”)
  • The ordinary is holy when God is in it

How You Can Practice Seeing God in Everyday Moments Right Now

I know it’s tempting to wait for “someday” to start, but let’s not. Let me give you a few practical next steps you can try today. And remember, none of us get it right every time. This is about progress, not perfection. And we do this together, as a community learning to see God in everyday moments.

Reflect on These Questions

  • What is God teaching me in this season right now?
  • Where have I noticed a small shift in my faith lately?
  • Is there one moment from today where I saw God at work, even if it seemed tiny?

You can write these answers down, pray through them, or even send them to a friend. If you’re feeling brave, I’d love for you to send them to me. I’m always here to share this road with you.

Let’s Celebrate the Little Things Together

In our recent podcast episode, I shared some of my favorite “fun facts” from the women in our community. Pet pigs, figure skating, that amazing story of not being stung by a bee. It sounds silly, but those details remind me that God cares about what makes us, us. The more we celebrate those little moments, the more we’ll notice what God is already doing. And friend, it’s beautiful to watch people step into the realization that their story matters.

How Seeing God in Everyday Moments Invites Others In

You never know who needs your story. Sometimes the breakthrough someone else needs starts with you sharing the smallest shift in your own heart. And that ripple effect starts with a willing spirit. Not a perfect one. Just willing.

Our community has seen so many examples of this. Women who thought they had nothing to share but ended up encouraging hundreds. Stories about learning to rest, taking that first step toward forgiveness, hearing God’s voice for the first time. Every perspective is unique. Every story counts. And sometimes, seeing God in everyday moments is what gives you the courage to share.

Remember This Truth About God’s Faithfulness

If you take one thing away today, let it be this. Even “ordinary” faithfulness matters. You don’t have to feel ready. You don’t need all the answers. God multiplies the small steps. I am proof of that, and so is this podcast community. God uses our ordinary days for extraordinary grace. You just have to notice.

Let’s keep looking for Him, together. And if you want to share your story, you always have a place here. Go back and catch our latest episode for more practical examples, or reach out to me directly. We’re building a community that practices seeing God in everyday moments, day after day. And every tiny shift builds into something beautiful.

How to Take the Next Step in Your Everyday Faith

If this sparked something in you, don’t wait. Pay attention the next time you’re folding laundry, sitting in a meeting, or making your morning coffee. Invite God into that space. Ask Him to help you see what He’s doing. Then tell somebody else. (Reach out if you need someone to cheer you on - I’m here for it!)

Your faith doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. It grows right where you are, one ordinary day at a time. Keep watching for God in everyday moments. I promise, those are the places He loves to meet you the most.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for listening, for sharing, and for having the courage to keep noticing God at work. Let’s put fresh perspective into practice and watch faith grow right in the middle of real life.
